Simon Baker
CEO, President

Mr. Baker is the founder and CEO of Baker Avenue Asset Management (BAAM) and President of Great Gable Partners L.P. with overall responsibility for investment performance. He also serves as a member of BAAM’s Investment Committee. Previously, Simon was a Managing Director at Banc of America Securities, where he was responsible for managing over $1 billion of high net worth client funds and family assets. Before Banc of America, Simon worked for seven years as a Wealth Management Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). It was at DLJ that Mr. Baker co-developed BAAM’s Total Return All Cap model. Mr. Baker began his wealth management career in 1994 as a high net worth advisor with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in San Francisco. Simon graduated cum laude with a B.A. in economics from Hartwick College in 1993.

Mr. Luff is a Senior Vice President of Wealth Management and Financial Planning at Baker Avenue. He brings fifteen years of financial advisory experience in both the institutional and retail markets. His focus is providing clients with integrated wealth management strategies that include investment management, retirement cash-flow planning and estate tax minimization. Prior to joining Baker Avenue, Jerry was a Vice-President in the Global Wealth Management group at Banc of America Investments. Jerry also provided fixed-income analysis and portfolio strategies to institutional clients at both Bear Stearns and Morgan Stanley. His clients there were endowments, corporations and municipalities including General Motors, U.S. Steel, and The University of California Regents. In addition to the CFP designation, Jerry has an B.A. in finance from The University of Texas at Arlington and an M.B.A. in finance from Fordham University.
